The Finance Director is under the direction of the County Board and is responsible for developing, formulating and implementing fiscal and accounting policies and procedures to assure compliance with all laws, rules and regulations and to assure that accounting procedures and records conform with generally accepted accounting principles and practices. 

State Auditor's Office

The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) serves as a watchdog for Minnesota taxpayers by helping to ensure financial integrity, accountability, and cost-effectiveness in local government. Through financial, compliance, and special audits, the OSA oversees and ensures that local government funds are used for the purposes intended by law. www.auditor.state.mn.us
