Services and Respnsibilities
The Geographic Information Systems (GIS)
Department is a division of the Assessor’s Office and provides
geographically based information to citizens, other governmental units,
and County staff, leading to better decision-making and facilitating
land transfers in Houston County. The Houston County GIS was first
developed as part of our E-911 System. From there, the GIS project was
expanded to respond to growth-related needs by better maintaining,
graphically displaying, and integrating geographic data.
